Hey guys, welcome back! This week I put my efforts into avoiding stress binge eating. I am a huge culprit when it comes to eating as a coping mechanism to stress. I have been making myself hot tea to avoid snacking at night and it actually helps a lot. I’ve realized in my last few blog posts I hadn’t yet mentioned those 10 pounds I am aiming to lose. I am only 2 pounds lower than my weight at the start of this semester. I’m not entirely happy with these results however I’m just happy the scale moved down and not up. Yoga has been my thing lately and I’ve started to see some real results as for my strength and flexibility. Yoga has been beneficial in managing my stress and staying physically active. I’ve even gotten my boyfriend to do yoga with me a few times which makes it so much easier to find time because we are always together. I’ve also been watching what I drink. I find that sometimes, I consume the most calories just through my beverage. I’ve completely ditched cream in my coffee and have been trying to stick to water, and sometimes I add fruit to it to make it more flavorful. Cooking has become more of a habit again and I eat out a lot less.
This weeks reading discussed relationships. Having a healthy relationship can seriously make all the difference to your overall wellness. It was interesting to read about gender tendencies in communication style. There are certain things like body language and behavioral tendencies that can differ based on your gender. I always get upset when my boyfriend avoids eye contact when we are talking about something important, and it made me feel a little guilty when i read that this is common for men as a whole! I will keep this new found knowledge in my mind the next time we have a discussion! facial expressions was discussed in the text as a way to improve communication. This is something I could truly work on. I’ve always been guilty of eye rolling and wearing my true feelings right on my face. So I will focus more on this.
