Hi guys! I’m excited to be working with you all this semester! There’s no time like the present to tackle your goals and I’ve consistently promised myself “I’ll start tomorrow!” Lack of motivation in the winter months has sort of been my thing for as long as I can remember. This class was the push in the right direction that I needed to face my health goals. First I should introduce myself, my name is Victoria Caperello but I go by Tori 99.99% of the time. I’m what they call a “super senior” here at Bridgewater State and I’m a Health Studies Major graduating this semester! I never thought the time would come that I would actually be graduating so I’m excited and a bit fearful of the future that is ahead of me! My health and wellness goal that I have set for myself is to lead an overall more healthy lifestyle. To make this goal measurable I have set the specific goal of losing 10 pounds! I plan on taking steps to change my diet to eat more whole foods and less junk! To be completely honest with you I hardly ever find time to work out these days and it is definitely showing! This past week, in the spirit of new beginnings a friend of mine inviting me skiing and I agreed and it actually made for a good workout! I decided I will try to fit in different forms of cardio in fun and different ways like skiing, ice skating etc. I am eager to accomplish my goal as both an academic accomplishment but also would love to see some changes to my body and lifestyle! Aside from changing my diet I plan on working out. I have tried and failed at becoming a religious member at my gym so I’ve decided to switch it up a bit! I have learned that the gym I had previously signed up for has a yoga studio and offers free classes, also I bought a one month membership to a kickboxing studio and I have never been but am excited to try! While the last thing I feel comfortable doing is announcing my weight publicly online to strangers I feel it is a way to hold myself accountable and create a “before” number that I can compare to my final blog post! So for the moment I’ve been avoiding all winter…..stepping on the scale! My start weight is 127 pounds, which is personally the heaviest I have ever been. Here’s to accomplishing our goals!
