Week 2

Hey guys! Go patriots! Unless your not a New England fan, in which case….why????? This week my main focus was to stay away from added sugars. If you know me you know that sweets make me happy, so I knew it was going to be a challenge. For most of the week I had no problem with healthy eating and cutting back on sugar. I must admit that super bowl Sunday is a big holiday in my family so NO rules applied as far as my diet was concerned. I ate WAY to much food. I started back strong on Monday with a workout and lots of leafy greens. I’ve been really enjoying spinach lately cooked or raw in salad form. One thing that I have noticed since I began altering my diet is that my skin has cleared up a lot. I had consistent break outs on my chin and to be honest it’s been a while since I have NOT had a pimple on my face. There was no amount of face wash or expensive products that could help (believe me I tried). This week my skin is looking a lot better and I think it has to do in my diet changes especially the cutting down of sugar and dairy. I’m never one to post a “naked faced selfie” but I was able to go to work and school with no face make up and feel confident(ish). This weeks chapter discussed mental health and seeking help when necessary. I can’t stress how important this really is. It was also informative to learn different methods of dealing with someone else feeling depressed or suicidal because there is a large amount of people that feel depressed and odds are we will need these skills one day. For this next coming week I want to really pick it up with my workouts. I’ve been doing yoga and basic strength training, but I hope to incorporate more cardio this week.
